HOUSE IN THE SALZKAMMERGUT
The Hackenroit farm in St. Wolfgang impresses with its unique location overlooking Lake Wolfgangsee and the surrounding mountains.
This made it all the more important to showcase them during the conversion and extension work.
The core task was to plan a new roof truss for the approx. 200-year-old farmhouse over the house floor, but also over the utility rooms such as the hayloft. As a result, we introduced a few other innovations. A guest room was also added to the ground floor of the house and the Tenn entrance gate was raised.
Our tasks were the design planning with visualization, submission planning, administrative procedures, detailed planning, furniture planning, cooperation with an interior designer friend of the family, coordination of the construction companies, cost control and construction supervision.
On the top floor, there is now an extremely spacious and luxurious family bedroom with a separate bathroom and toilet, and a view of the lake and the surrounding mountains – totaling 4 rooms.
A unique highlight: the toilet with a view into the hayloft and the tractors. Another highlight is the bathtub with a view outside over the new dormer window into the beautiful surroundings. The bathroom is modern and traditional at the same time, the mirror is positioned between the beautiful wooden lattice windows, a wallpaper made of natural materials on the opposite wall completes the ambience of the feel-good room.
The type of wood used in the entire roof space is domestic and untreated spruce/fir, while larch with its particularly weather-resistant properties has its advantages on the outside. Inside, reclaimed wood furniture and a larch wood floor complete the feel-good factor.
The roof is completely covered with larch wood shingles, combined with an in-roof PV system.
A new larch shingle cladding protects the rear façade of the house.
The existing balcony was renovated and widened slightly in the middle to provide more space for a lounger or table. The new dormers provide a view of the Zwölferhorn as well as the Osterhorn group with the beautiful Postalm and the surrounding mountains.
